Stone Spheres of Costa Rica

Day 1. San Jose, Costa Rica.
Meeting at the airport with a Bilingual speaking guide, private transfer to the hotel in San Jose (without meal).
Day 2. San Jose – Sierpe – Osa Peninsula.
After breakfast departure from the hotel. Private transfer to the airport for the flight with the airline Aviancataca to the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Arrival to the Airport Palmar Sur or Drake Bay. Then transfer by car to the river Sierpe, where you will go by boat along the river with the largest mangrove forests in Central America. During this walk you will see crocodiles, snakes, monkeys and a large variety of birds. Sailing through the Sierpe River delta, you will meet two of the most spectacular regions of the country, Drake Bay and the Marenco Biological Reserve. Arrival to the selected hotel. Accommodation. (breakfast/lunch/dinner).
Day 3. Corcovado National Park.
You will visit the Corcovado National Park that is considered the most intensive biological place in the world (collective tour). There is no place in the world like Corcovado. Its flora contains thousands of species, many of them are totally endangered, for example caryocar costarricense, brosimum alicastrum. Corcovado’s fauna also strikes with its variety. There are many parrots, jaguars and crocodiles. (breakfast/lunch/dinner).
Day 4. Isla del Caño Island.
You’ll have a trip (collective tour) on a boat to the Isla del Caño, important archaeological and biological spot of Costa Rica. You have a chance to see humpback whales, dolphins and killer whales. The island is circled by coral reefs. Underwater eruptive rocks attract many mollusks and fish. This place is considered the best for snorkeling and diving. Many years ago on the island the ancestors of Native American made burials in this area, and on each burial place the famous stone spheres of different sizes was found. Archeologists say that some spheres are under water. According to archaeologists, these spheres may be aged more than 12 thousand years. Upon arrival to the place you will have an opportunity for snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of this island. Picnic lunch and return to the hotel. (breakfast/lunch/dinner).
Day 5. Sierpe – Manuel Antonio.
This morning you’ll return to the peninsula by boat along the river Sierpe back to the village with the same name. Here you will find interesting tour to the National Museum of Costa Rica, where the spheres were found in the 40-ies of the last century and some items are still in their original location. Our guide will tell you the mysteries and myths associated with these spheres. After the tour you will have a lunch and then transfer to the popular tourist town of Quepos near Manuel Antonio National Park. Accommodation in the hotel. (breakfast/lunch).
Day 6. Return to San Jose.
After breakfast you will be transferred the international airport in San Jose or your hotel on the beach (transfer’s price is not included) (breakfast).
